Greetings Homeowners,
The HOA Board has been reviewing drainage areas throughout the subdivision, and has already completed cleaning out the shallow ditch behind houses on north Whip Street. Our next project is to work on cleaning out the street gutters leading into drains and catch basins.
According to the CCR’s, each homeowner is responsible for keeping these areas clear as part of maintaining their property. To all homeowners who have taken this responsibility seriously, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Your efforts are greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work.
For others, including some using lawn services, the gutters need some attention. First, we are hiring Eric Imdieke to clear those areas that have vegetation and debris building up. The process involves raking up movable debris and grass clippings, using a propane torch to kill back vegetation, and finally applying an herbicide to retard future growth. Once completed, there will be quarterly maintenance to keep the gutters clear.
Second, this action does NOT mean homeowners are no longer responsible!! Please do not blow grass clippings into the street gutters – they are for water drainage, not composting. Pull a weed or two every time you go to the mailbox. If you use a lawn service, ask them to make sure the gutters and storm drains are free of clippings after every cut. Every little bit helps.
If you wish to NOT have this cleaning done at your house, for any reason, please contact the Board by email at info@hollygardenshoa.com before October 27. If you opt out of this service, please realize that you will be held fully responsible for keeping the street gutters in front of your house clean.
